Estimated timeline for the VisionPHASE ONE:
Form meaningful relationships with people within the local creative
community. Jeff is currently
doing this by covering the local music scene in a blog and by posting on
Examiner.com; PHASE TWO: Begin to engage the community through small gatherings for fellowship and discussion. Begin hosting our own events to promote the arts as we develop "street cred" among the creative community. Allow a regular schedule of events to develop according to need and opportunity. Begin gathering with believers who come alongside or become believers through our interaction. PHASE THREE: Seek out options for obtaining our own space; determining what businesses should be part of that space, and/or linking with existing businesses with a kindred spirit; planning and developing the space for classes, art shows, concerts and other events according to need. PHASE FOUR:
The Echo Project is fully functional in its own space, with one to
three businesses in operation, including a gathering space/coffee shop,
art/music venue, and/or photo gallery. Additional space available for
classes and smaller events. A
core group of believers utilizes this space to interact with the greater
community during the week, and gathering with one another organically for
fellowship in homes or in the designated space. Believers are added through
consistent interaction with the community. TOTAL ESTIMATED TIME FRAME FOR PHASES ONE THROUGH FOUR: Three to five years.
***UPDATE DECEMBER 2010: We are currently in the process of working out details for a Bible study geared toward the creative/artistic community--approximately one year after we began this quest. We are getting ready to enter PHASE TWO. By this timeline, we are right on schedule.
